Kittens diarrheaOur 6mo male neutered cat, Guffman, has developed some loose stool/ diarrhea in the past few days (it happens on and off). We have been feeding both out kittens (one is only 1-2 months old) the Nutro Natural Choice Complete Care Kitten food; Guffman was fine with it until a few days ago. I switched his food to the Paul Newman's Own Organic Cat Food, to see if that would help, but the loose stool has persisted. Also, Guffman has had, since we've had him, a lot of gas issues. Anyway, I was wondering what would be the best thing to do for him.
Cat constipationMy cat has had a problem for the last 3 yrs with elimination. His stool is so large that it is almost impossible for him to pass. I have given him a laxative for cats, I have had to digitally disimpact him. The problem seems to be growing worse as he ages. He is an indoor cat and I have taken him to the area vet once for this and it cost me a couple of hundred dollars for him to get enemas and stay overnight. The vet was called once more and he is the one that suggested the disempacting. I just can't stand doing that anymore. Is there anything else I can do to help him? I have been thinking of having him put to sleep . He is getting ill a lot, throwing up and as a nurse I know this isn't good for him. I just need advice from someone who isn't going to gain a lot of money from this so I can do what is best for him. The vet here is very expensive and does more then he should sometimes.Thank you for any advice you can give me.
Cat losing weight and urinating in cupboardsMy 11mo male (neutered) Siamese mix cat has been losing weight & urinating in cuboards. He has never done this before. He has also started sneezing frequently. What can the problem be?
Other cats attacking sick cat in the householdI have 3 indoor cats and just tried a flea control spray on them. One got a little sick from it, and my siamese who has never attacked anything before, now attacks the sick one (and the other cat on occasion) everytime she sees him. I've seperated them and its been 24 hours but she still attacks. The spray smelled awful and we've sinced bathed all the cats with cat shampoo. I don't know what else to do. Is this something she will probably just get over or what can I do?
Cat drinking anti-freezeThe neighbors have put out anti-freeze to stop our cats from pooping on their lawn. I found my 2 yo female DSH cat tonight very lethargic and not eating. Could she have drunk some? Do I need to get her to the vet or will she get over it?
Cat with swollen lymph nodeTwo weeks ago our kitten (6mo neutered male tabby) Buddy had his front claws removed at the vet's. At some point they examined him and noticed that he had swollen lymph nodes in the back of his legs. We were told that he may have Feline Leukemia and to keep him seperate from our other cats for a month until he could be retested (he tested negative a month and a half ago). We have been feeling his popliteal lymph nodes since then and it seems that only one seems a little bit swollen and the other seems normal. Is it really possible that he has Felv? Wouldn't all his lymph nodes be swollen if that were the case. We have also been treating him for diarrhea with metronidazole. Beyond that he is very active, eating, playing, seems very healthy. Do you think he has Felv and what are the other possibilities for the swollen lymph node? |

Dog digging carpet
My dog (5yo female neutered Blue Heeler mix) is outside during the day and inside at night. I've only had her for 6 months- I got her from a friend. During the past month, she started scratching at our carpets ruining them. She only scratches them around the walls never in middle of the floor. Why is she doing this and what can I do to get her to stop?
