Other cats attacking sick cat in the householdI have 3 indoor cats and just tried a flea control spray on them. One got a little sick from it, and my siamese who has never attacked anything before, now attacks the sick one (and the other cat on occasion) everytime she sees him. I've seperated them and its been 24 hours but she still attacks. The spray smelled awful and we've sinced bathed all the cats with cat shampoo. I don't know what else to do. Is this something she will probably just get over or what can I do?
Cat drinking anti-freezeThe neighbors have put out anti-freeze to stop our cats from pooping on their lawn. I found my 2 yo female DSH cat tonight very lethargic and not eating. Could she have drunk some? Do I need to get her to the vet or will she get over it?
Cat with swollen lymph nodeTwo weeks ago our kitten (6mo neutered male tabby) Buddy had his front claws removed at the vet's. At some point they examined him and noticed that he had swollen lymph nodes in the back of his legs. We were told that he may have Feline Leukemia and to keep him seperate from our other cats for a month until he could be retested (he tested negative a month and a half ago). We have been feeling his popliteal lymph nodes since then and it seems that only one seems a little bit swollen and the other seems normal. Is it really possible that he has Felv? Wouldn't all his lymph nodes be swollen if that were the case. We have also been treating him for diarrhea with metronidazole. Beyond that he is very active, eating, playing, seems very healthy. Do you think he has Felv and what are the other possibilities for the swollen lymph node?
Cat with E Coli bladder infectionMy cat Snickers has been diagnosed with E. Coli in her bladder. She was having problems urinating and the vet put her on an acidifying diet. Now they tell me that they've managed to find a bug in her urine (they grew it) and it's E. Coli - what is it? How did she get it? She never eats human food and I always keep the lid on my toilet closed?! My vet put her on Clavamox as well.
Cat with chronic diarrheaMy 13yo male neutered himalayan cat has had chronic diarrhea (with occasional nausea/vomiting) for about a year. I have taken him to three veterinarians who have run various tests, including a sonogram of his GI system -- no apparent problems. The problem initially caused considerable weight loss. He responds, to an extent, to three milliliters Carafate (orally) three times daily, and occasional injection of 0.5 ML Metoclopromide (for nausea/vomiting (the latter makes him highly nervous))). He usually feels very well, has a good appetite, and keeps himself clean. Any suggestions for a treatment my vets may have missed would be deeply appreciated.
Cat acting aggressive with cloudy eyeMy 7mo tabby DSH neutered female kitten always comes to me when she is called. Tonight I could not find her because she was hiding. She acted like she didn't know me, and I noticed when I brought my hand up by her right eye ahe would cower and growl. Her right eye actually looks cloudier than the left, and when you touch the area above the eye she freaks. Can an abcess make the eye cloudy. There were no other symptoms of anything before this odd behavior. |

Cat losing hair with itchy skin
About a month ago my female neutered Siamese mix cat lost all the shine in her coat of long hair, and refuses to come into the house, preferring to remain in the garage. She is shedding her hair and it comes out in big clumps. The skin on her back near her tail is flaking off, like large dandruff, and the hairs have tiny black things on them near the base. This area is very itchy and when it is touched, she goes into an involuntary biting spasm. She also has small scabs on her skin spread all over her body. - Click
