Cat twitching and self mutilation

My cat has developed some kind of nervous twitch where the skin on her back and sometimes on her paws jerks, or pulsates to where it can be seen.  When this occurs, the cat trys to bite the area and it looks as if she's attacking herself.  She bites and bites and pulls out her hair.  She is on Revolution, so I know it's not fleas, she's an indoor cat as well..  It started when my 160lb Rotweiler, (who I keep far away from my cat) got loose and chased her.  It scared her to the point that I couodn't even touch her without her hissing at me for a few minutes.  2 days later, she is having this tick where her skin shimmies, like a chill, and she bites the area.  It is driving her mad, she runs frantically around the room when it happen until, now it's happening more frequently.  I called my vet, and she said it could be psychological?  She has recently been to the vet to have her teeth cleaned and has had all tests done, what could this be?

Cat not eating after surgery

I need a second opinion....One week before my cat had stomach surgery (9/30/2003) my cat vomited everyday. This triggered me to take him to the vet.

After x-rays of my cat, the vet discovered a piece of something 1" long 1/2" wide in his stomach.  So surgery was scheduled and performed.  I brought my cat home 3 days after surgery.  I wanted to be sure all was fine with him before taking him home.  I had him home one day and had to take him back to the vet.  He was dehydrated and I almost lost him.   The vet hydrated him and I was able to bring him back home in 2 days.

My cat has not ate any food since 9/30/2003. I have tried force feeding him and all he does is gag when he smells the food and walks away and runs from me.  The vet said he has ulcers in his mouth and that is why he is having problems and these will pass in time.

He has an antibiotic I give him once a day and vitamins twice a day. My cat has spells of not drinking his water so I give him water by eye dropper when I give him his medicine and vitamins.

My cat was 14 lbs. he is now weak and skinny. I've tried all sorts of soft foods, per instructions from the vet. But my cat is not interested.

Is there anything more that can be done for my cat and his ulcers so he will eat?  Also my cat's right eye has developed mukus in the corners and drains all the time and is half closed.  I use a soft warm cloth to wipe this eye free of the mukus. No eye problems before surgery. Please let me know what can be done for my cat  to get him back to being healthy again.  I'm afraid I may lose him. He uses his litter box but he doesn't realize his bottom isn't completely in the box.

Please give me your opinion and what else I can do.

Cat with painful urination

My male DSH 3yo neutered cat is sometimes using the litter box and sometimes not for both urinating and defecating.  He has been crying as if in pain while in and out of the litter box, and has vomited recently.  I have taken him to the vet twice.  The first time they took a sterile urine sample, which showed bacteria.  They started him on Clavamox 125mg twice/day.  This caused him to have diarrhea outside of the litter box after a week (upset stomach).  After X-rays to rule out bladder stones, and blood tests to rule out liver, kidney, and diabetes problems he was switched to Marbofloxacin, of which he just finished his course.  He is still crying, licking his genitals frequently,  and will try to use the litter box to occasional avail (sometimes he sits in litter box for up to 20 minutes trying).  The vet now started him on Elavil 10mg/day thinking it may be psychological.  I am trying to find out if you have ever heard of such a situation.  He has always used the litter box since birth, has never had a health problem (current on vaccinations and annual visits) and has always been VERY easy going.  I have followed previous advice and changed diet, litter, moved litter box, and did not punish him for going on the floor.  Nothing seems to have had any effect.  I don't know what to do, and I'm worried something might be physically wrong with him, although it seems he's been checked for everything.  Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.  Can we be missing something physical?  We've checked for stones, diabetes, liver problems, kidney problems, and UTI.  I don't know what else to do. . .Thank you.

Cat moving house and urinating everywhere

We have been in our new house for about a month, and all of our cats seem very happy with the bigger house (lots more room than before). Yet the last few days we have noticed that one of our cats has been urinating on our stove top, yet it was not done at the old house.

We have 13 cats, took the lid off the boxes thinking this would keep them from peeing on the floor (another issue, and here we find them peeing on the stove, but have no idea how to find out which one it is or even why all of a sudden they are doing this.

Nothing has changed, same litter, boxes, food, etc. so we are at a loss.

Also, why are they all of a sudden peeing in this one corner of a hallway we have downstairs?  We put down natures miracle, but they keep going back there.  We have some left over brand new padding from the new carpet at the old house that we are going to put there and take out the old, will that help?

We have a nice new house and want to start fresh without the cats peeing everywhere.  We have 5 boxes downstairs do we need more?

Please help, we love our cats, wont get rid of them but dont know what to do. They range from 1 1/2 to 15 years old.

Vomiting cat

I have two cat sisters and they get along pretty well.  Cleo however has come across a few scrapes during her day.  She's the more agressive cat and likes to scavenge for things.  One time she broke her tooth, it was one of her prominent canines so we had to have it removed.  They eat meow mix because they wont eat anything else.  I say that and it's not true, Cleo will eat ANYTHING you put in front of her.  In fact I think she eats compulsively.  Mogs however will not eat anything but meow mix original, not even chicken or fish.  Now that Cleo's lost the tooth she throws up.  EVERY DAY.  She throws up her food, she doesn't even chew it, she just swallows it whole.  It's starting to get out of hand.  She's also getting REALLY fat while mogs is getting skinnier.  There isn't a way to isolate them and feed them separately in my house.  Both of them have containment issues and will destroy things if they are closed in somewhere, like a room.  I want them to be healthy and happy, but I think Cleo has a problem here.  I wanted to ask online because taking them to the vet is an arduous task because they both poop, pee, pant, and wail the whole way there every time.  They work themselves up so much, that can't be good for them.  My husband thinks we should put her out of her misery and put her to sleep.  What do you think we should do?

Cat with swollen face

This morning I noticed that the left side of my cat's face and under her chin are swollen. She stays inside and isn't around any other animals. She is up to date on all her shots. I concerned about her. Last night when I got home she had thrown up I don't know if that could be related or not.

Add to Female cat with bloody discharge from vagina
Our (1yo female DSH) neutered cat (neutered prior to our ownership) has had intermittent small volume bloody discharge from her vagina for the last 3 months. On exam her vulva had an ulcerated area and our veternarian is planning an exam under anesthesia later this week. She has no weight loss, a healthy appetite, and has had no change in activity. She is the only animal in our home. What do you believe this could be? - Click here to read the answer
