Cat with torn claw and limpingMy cat (10mo domestic shorthaired male neutered) came home limping and holding up his front right paw. Upon inspection, I couldn't find anything. A few days later I saw what looked like two puncture marks. Now, one of his claws have fallen out and his fur has pulled away from the spot. But, the puncture marks look better. The area is very clean and dry, not infected looking. But, I'm alarmed that the claw fell out and there is a patch of fur missing. This is on the top of the paw, not the bottom. He is no longer limping. Please advise.
Cat with fur falling outAsami (4yo female neutered tabby) recently ran away - we found her 4 days later underneath the house in front of us. She was pretty dehydrated when she came back, but she's looking a lot better now (it's been 1 week). However, I am concerned because her fur has been falling out in small clumps (usually attached to a small scab). Could this be mites? fleas? Thank you.
Cat with scab on armpitMy cat has a small patch of scaly, scabby skin in one or her "armpits." It looks like Psoriasis and it bothers her. I am having trouble finding information on how to keep her comfortable until I take her to the vet... hopefully next week. It's not serious but I hate to have her chewing at it if there is a way to relieve her discomfort.
Cat refusing to eatWe bought a cat (3yo female neutered Maine Coon) one week ago and seems to be in excellent health. She is very active and craves attention but we are unable to entice her to eat. We have tried the same food the breeder gave her as well as the formula that she ate while weening her one and only litter and also the food our other two Maine Coon's eat. Nothing has worked; not even fancy albacore tuna. She is quite shy by nature so we have tried to isolate her from any distractions but nothing has worked. Any suggestions?
Vaccinations for older catMy cat (1yo female tabby) has not had her injections which make it safe for her to go outside. I know they are supposed to have one at 9 weeks, and a further one. She's now 1, can we still get these injections to enable her to go outside....what sort of procedure should I follow?
Cat with torn clawsLast night Oliver (our 5yo DSH male neutered cat) was spooked by our other cat Samantha (who got stuck in a bag). He was so scared by this, that he dug his back-claws into the carpet and forgot to release them and took off running (fronts have been declawed), tearing 4 of them out and damaging the rest of them. It was very bloody and took us a while to get the bleeding to stop. We put him on a blanket and let him lay there all night till he cleaned up his feet and they stopped bleeding. We did try wrapping them in guaze, but he kept getting them off. This morning we soked his feet for 5 minutes in Benatine & warm water and we will continue to do so 2x a day for 5 days or until they look ok. Are we doing what we should for him? What else should we do? Will these 4 claws grow back? Will the others fall out? We are trying to avoid a trip to the vet as he gets so tramatized by that. He really is the poster-child for SCAREDY CAT! |

Dog digging carpet
My dog (5yo female neutered Blue Heeler mix) is outside during the day and inside at night. I've only had her for 6 months- I got her from a friend. During the past month, she started scratching at our carpets ruining them. She only scratches them around the walls never in middle of the floor. Why is she doing this and what can I do to get her to stop?
