Cat discharging blood and mucus from anusI have a female cat (4yo mix breed female neutered) that just in the last 2 days has been discharging mucus and blood from her anus, and has been less active than normal. She is not eating as much as usual. What can it be? Is it serious?
Drying up cat milkMy cat (2yo female DSH) had kittens, but didn't make enough milk, so three died. This was her second litter. The two that survived have gotten big enough to give away. I had her fixed last week, but now she's producing milk. Her teets are swelled really bad. My question is, will her milk dry up on it's own, or is there something I can give her to help?
Cat not putting on weightHello, I hope you can help me. I have had my persian (6yo male neutered) since he was a kitten. He had no problems then. He has since developed a problem with his weight. I thought it might of been due to my other cat bullying him (he is fairly timid). I have fed them both seperately since thinking this was the problem. It helped a bit and he started to put on weight. However, he refuses to eat out of a bowl (shallow one)and I have noticed his teeth grind when he is eating. His teeth are in perfect condition by the way. He will only eat very small amounts at a time (considerably smaller than the other cat). I have taken him for a blood test in the past as I was so worried as he had lost so much weight. I am not sure what they tested for but the results didnt show anything abnormal. He can put on weight but drops weight so fast again if he is picky again. I have wormed him using Drontal from the vets so I don't think its worms. He isnt drinking more than usual either. Its seems like his food isnt being absorbed properly or something. I really worry about him and I am sure people think I am not feeding him properly! ( He gets a mixture of food, tinned fish, cat food (wet) and IAMS. When I picked him up from the breeder she said that he had already been sold along with another kitten, but the other kitten (his brother)had been diagnosed with a heart murmur and the people who had wanted them said they didnt want either of them. However, I got his heart checked when he had the blood test a couple of years ago and it was fine as I wondered if he could of developed one. Sorry if I have rambled on a bit but I am sick of him looking so skinny!
Cat with possible hairball stuckMy cat (9mo male tabby domestic short hair) I think has a hairball stuck, and his breathing seems to be hard, and he is not eatting anything since this morning and coughs and acts like he wants to throw up but nothing is coming up, he is laying behind my bedroom door, he is usually with my older cat sleepin by him or playing and he is not doing either or, I tried a small 1/3 teas of oil, what else can I do to help my cat?
Declawing catsWe are thinking of declawing our cats (they are mixed breeds aged between 1-5 years old) and we have researched it with mixed results. We read that its amputating their toes and they will never regain their full balance or agility once its done and that its very painful for them and a long healing process, and then the next thing we read says that its just removing the nails and they heal quickly and it doesnt effect them at all. We want to know if its a safe procedure and doesnt effect our cats in a negative way. They are currently big furniture and wall scratchers and we've tried the furniture spray, buying scratching posts and clipping their nails and it doesnt help. is declawing okay or should we look for other methods.
Cat urinating on bedsMy cat (16mo Bengal female neutered cat) started to urinate on my beds about a month ago. So far she has done it 5 times (twice on my Guest Room bed where my niece sleeps when visiting and 3 times on my bed). She is very close to me and my niece. I have another 9-Month old female cat. Both cats get along well and play often. Both sleep with us frequently so it is not that she urinates on the beds all the time. Both cats are VERY clean and has never pooped anywhere close to where they eat and sleep. All 5 times happened after she discovers my 2nd cat sleeping with us. At 1st I thought its jealousy but I started to observe her habits and find that she is slowly losing weight (she used to be 2.8 kg, she's now about 2.3, 2.4 kg) and drinking more and urinating more. Otherwise she eats normal and I feed her canned food and dried food from Nutro, Evolve and Back to Basics, no change. She plays normal too, very energetic, sleeping habits normal. |

Dog digging carpet
My dog (5yo female neutered Blue Heeler mix) is outside during the day and inside at night. I've only had her for 6 months- I got her from a friend. During the past month, she started scratching at our carpets ruining them. She only scratches them around the walls never in middle of the floor. Why is she doing this and what can I do to get her to stop?
