Cats sneezing constantly chronic nasal dischargeI have 2 domestic short haired 10yo cats. Currently female is sneezing constantly. Male occasionally. Appetites and behavior generally OK. Both were healthy until rescued wild kitten with URI and other issues brought into household. All 3 cats' shots current. Now kitten healthy and two 10-year-olds sneezing. Been to 3 Vets in 2 practices. Female and male 10-year-olds have been through three and two courses of two different antibiotics. Sneezing seems to get better, then worse. Male cat had sinus cavity flushed twice. Current sneezing problem is very bad in female. Discharge is clear. Eyes water. One vet had suggested something stuck in nose; but don't see how that could be identical problem in two cats. Do not yet have believable diagnosis. Vet also thought female's current need for dental work (I have dental work done as needed) could be part of problem. Need opinion and possible course of action.
Cat with runny eyesBoris (2yo male neutered Burmese) has settled into his new home (We adopted him from an Animal Shelter a few days ago) beautifully. He has a slight runny discharge from both eyes. How can I safely treat it palliatively until I can get him to the Vet? He was at the shelter for about ten days
Cat with hair loss and scratching a lotWe have a feral cat (female, not sure how old she is) who has been losing patches of hair for the past month, she is scratching till she bleeds. We gave her a bath and there wasn't an excessive amount of fleas, her appetite has doubled and she still looks thin. Do you have an answer as to what this may be?? Or what we should be doing?? O, and we have racoons around - could they be fighting with her?
Cat scratch and rabiesI'm not sure if my question should go to a people-doctor or not....I have a call in to my family doctor, but thought I'd get another opinion from a vet since I'm sure you're familiar with the rabies virus. There is a stray cat that has been living in our neighborhood for several years. I've slowly been taming it and have gotten it to allow me to pet him. Last night I noticed that the cat was walking with a severe limp and had a wound on his face. My husband and I decided to bring him into our home, and then take him to a vet in the morning. I picked him up and he didn't fight me at first, so I proceeded with carrying him into the house. When I got near the door, he got scared and thrashed around, got loose and hobbled off into the night. I can't find him now. When he got out of my arms, he scratched me (not a bite, just a scratch). I washed the scratch out and put antibiotic cream on it and it shows no sign of infection so far. My concern is, can rabies be transmitted thru a cat scratch? I always thought you had to be bitten by an animal to contract rabies, but when I was reading online, it sounds like there could be other modes of transmission too. Like I said, I do have a call in to my family doctor, but I thought since vets deal with rabies, you could give me another opinion. Thanks!

Dog digging carpet
My dog (5yo female neutered Blue Heeler mix) is outside during the day and inside at night. I've only had her for 6 months- I got her from a friend. During the past month, she started scratching at our carpets ruining them. She only scratches them around the walls never in middle of the floor. Why is she doing this and what can I do to get her to stop?
