Cats sneezing constantly chronic nasal discharge
I have 2 domestic short haired 10yo cats. Currently female is sneezing constantly. Male occasionally. Appetites and behavior generally OK. Both were healthy until rescued wild kitten with URI and other issues brought into household. All 3 cats' shots current. Now kitten healthy and two 10-year-olds sneezing. Been to 3 Vets in 2 practices. Female and male 10-year-olds have been through three and two courses of two different antibiotics. Sneezing seems to get better, then worse. Male cat had sinus cavity flushed twice. Current sneezing problem is very bad in female. Discharge is clear. Eyes water. One vet had suggested something stuck in nose; but don't see how that could be identical problem in two cats. Do not yet have believable diagnosis. Vet also thought female's current need for dental work (I have dental work done as needed) could be part of problem. Need opinion and possible course of action. |

Cat with sore on hip
Hi -- My 16 year old male neutered DSH cat has a sore on his hip area. It's been there for about 2 weeks. There's no fur left in the area, which is about as big as a half dollar, and it looks like there is puss. He doesn't seem to be in pain, he is not licking or biting it, and there are no blood or scabs. We have no idea what started it. It looks sort of like a burn would on a person (but it's not a burn). What, if anything, should I do about this? Is it worth calling my vet, or will it just heal in time? Is there an ointment I should be applying or some other treatment? Since he doesn't seem to be in pain we were just hoping it would heal. Thanks for your advice!
