Declawing cats
We are thinking of declawing our cats (they are mixed breeds aged between 1-5 years old) and we have researched it with mixed results. We read that its amputating their toes and they will never regain their full balance or agility once its done and that its very painful for them and a long healing process, and then the next thing we read says that its just removing the nails and they heal quickly and it doesnt effect them at all. We want to know if its a safe procedure and doesnt effect our cats in a negative way. They are currently big furniture and wall scratchers and we've tried the furniture spray, buying scratching posts and clipping their nails and it doesnt help. is declawing okay or should we look for other methods. |

Cat recovering from hepatic lipidosis-fatty liver disease
My Silver Tabby (8yo female neutered) is now recovering nicely, from Hepatic Lipidosis, and is eating and drinking on her own.She now weighs 8 pounds, and is active and playful.I can feel her ribs, but they have a covering of fat, so I'm wondering, is this a good weight for her? She eats about a quarter of a cup of Feline Iams Adult Maintenance a day, and that has recently increased a bit.Is that enough? Most of the time when I'm at work, she sleeps, and is active in the evening.Thanks!
