Dog with swelling on right front thighMy 8yo male neutered Labrador mix has a swelling of the right front thigh --inside muscle---- for approx. 1 week. We thought it was a sprain initially but it seems to still be there? I've been treating it with aleeve and itseems to reduce the swelling, but not completely. He gets light to moderate walking exercise daily and is on a good diet. He was in obvious pain last night, again I treated him with aleeve and he eventually fell asleep. What do you think is wrong with him?
Getting rid of glue trap glue on dogMy little Chihuahua dog got stuck on glue trap on the leg and the tail I got her out of the glue, but now she has glue on those parts how can I get this glue out of my poor puppy. She's only 2 months old! I don't want to use anything that's going to poison her.
Dog with bowel and urinary accidents in the houseMy 9.5 yo female neutered beagle has been drinking water more than she normally does and has had several accidents in the house, both urine and bowel movements. Her bowel movements have some blood and pus-like substance in them. I suspect that when we were at my son's for Christmas that she got into some bones out in his yard. She has never dealt with bones well but usually throws them up. She also got into my husbands jerky stash about two weeks ago and ate quite a bit of that which I would think would be out of her system by now, but wanted to mention it. If she has bone chips or larger pieces of bone in her digestive system how can I help her pass them? She does not have the ravenous appetite that she usually has. What can I do for her?
Dog with jaw shudderingAlthough he doesn't appear to be in any pain, my 3yo male neutered terrier mix does a lot of jaw clicking like a shuddering of jaw, or trying to re-align jaw. He is a dog that is in fear of almost everything. He is much better now than when we found him, but still has tendency to frighten easily. He is otherwise in excellent health. He is a one person dog and hardly leaves my side. We found him in a ditch, starving and abused about 2 years ago.
Puppy diarrheaAbout a week ago my dog (16weeks male Golden Retriever) started pooping a wattery poop in the afternoons his 2 morning poops were normal. We assumed he ate something. On Friday he became lazy and had a hard time pooping and it was watry and mucus. The vet checked his poop for worms and a single cell orgaims that I can't remember the names of and said it looked like he wasn't digesting his food good and the was a minor amount of blood and gave him some medicine for diarrhea that smelled like pizza. After a day of that he wouldn't hardly poop at all, he tries 2 or 3 times before going and it is a very small amounts and its still watery and yellow. After he had the yellow mucus one he tried about 8 times since and nothiing. He didn't eat much Sunday and It's Monday morning and I'm going to take him back to the vet. But I am looking for a second opion.
Dog drinking own urineThis is a foster dog (1-2 yo mix breed female neutered) that has just come into my care. She is drinking her urine like it's water. She was released by an elderly woman, don't know if she was severely punished for housetraining or maybe didn't receive water? Have had her medically checked, no infections and giving her vitamins to help if it is associated with poor nutrition. Any ideas on helping her stop this? Anything we could feed her to make her urine taste bad? Thanks for your help. |

Cat losing hair with itchy skin
About a month ago my female neutered Siamese mix cat lost all the shine in her coat of long hair, and refuses to come into the house, preferring to remain in the garage. She is shedding her hair and it comes out in big clumps. The skin on her back near her tail is flaking off, like large dandruff, and the hairs have tiny black things on them near the base. This area is very itchy and when it is touched, she goes into an involuntary biting spasm. She also has small scabs on her skin spread all over her body. - Click
