Dog drinking and throwing upWhenever my dog drinks a lot of water, it causes her to throw up. We have tried to limit the water that we have available to her, but it doesnt matter. If there is water in her bowl, she will drink it all, fast, and then invariable throw up shortly after. I have also noticed that if she eats ice cubes (which she likes) it also causes her to throw up. I don't want to run the risk of dehydrating her, but also am tired of cleaning up the mess. What could be causing this? It has been happening for the past 2 months.
Dog with rash on neckMy Dog is an indoor dog in the winter, outdoor in the summer - So currently the majority of the time he is outside. A few months ago he developed a red swollen rash on his neck that was obviously bothering him - I went on line to do some research on it and though maybe they were 'Hot Spots' - I used a medicated ointment recommended at my local pet store and the rash went away within about a week. A few days ago the rash has returned, I medicated it again and it seems to be getting better however my dog is not acting himself, he is usually playful and has a lot of energy and over the last few days he has been fatigued and lethargic. In addition because I have been handling him and petting him, I have developed a slight rash on my arm. It appears to be the same thing he had only not as severe. They are small bumps that almost look like a mosquito bite. I have put an antibiotic ointment on them and they are going away quickly and I feel fine. But I am worried about my dog's behavior and that he is now not acting himeself.
Attention seeking dogOur dog is constantly seeking our attention, by this I mean all the time...at night when we are just sitting around he is pacing and trying to get us to pay attention to just him and gets agitated when we don't. Is this normal? He didn't always act this way...could it be a disorder or something serious or is it most likely just a behavioral issue?? Please help...
Giving dog ibuprofenCan I safely give my dog 1 each Ibuprofen for arthritic pain?
Dog with lump on headCisco is 16years old, almost blind and deaf. Recently he developed a big 'gooseegg' bump over his left eye. It does not seem to bother him but it is a worry. I would not submit him to surgery at his age and condition but wondered if you can give me any advice. My wife talked to our vet but he simply said that he did not advise surgery for Cisco as this might cause the problem to spread. What do you suggest.
Dog with eye dischargeMy dog and my mother's dog, both Chocolate Labs, both have exhibited "greeneye". They both swim in 2 different rivers on the Chesapeake Bay. The two dogs have had problems recently with a eye discharge that statrted out "key lime pie" green in color and has moved to white. I mention the two dogs because of the similarity of the two cases. |

Dog with fleas
Last night my 7yo female neutered maltese was scatching a little & I noticed that the day before she did a little too. I rolled her over to look through her and found a flea...then 2 more a little bit later. I immediately ran to the store and bought Sergeants flea control that you put on their back between the shoulder blades & put that on her immediatedly. I washed all of her bedding & have vaccumed the house at least 3 times since. We have a huge 2 level house and the dog is 99.9% of the time on our main level in our living room & dining room. I found only 2 today...and that was early this morning...I have not seen any since...but am scared to death of how many fleas are in our house that I cannot see. I am afraid they are crawling everywhere & don't know where to start. The dog sometimes goes upstairs in our bedrooms.....I am afraid these pests could be in closets & etc....any advice would be greatly appreciated! - Click
