dog with breathing difficulties
Seamus (13yo black Labrador, male) was panting easily with very little exertion for a few months. I took him to the vet who took xrays and said he had rough lungs and to keep in AC during summer. Then Seamus began making noises like he was trying to 'hack up a furball', this continued for awhile (nothing ever came up). More xrays and sonograms and the diagonosis is COPD (no one smokes but I don't know what is first 6 years were like). He is on Tussigon (unk. mg.) 1/2 tab. at night, Terbutline 2.5 mg. 2 x a day and dexamethasone .25 mg 1/2 tablet every other day. Lately he wakes up at night and sounds like he is trying to spit up fluid. Does the diagonosis sound right and is there anything I can give him to 'dry up' his lungs? Thank you. |

Dog digging carpet
My dog (5yo female neutered Blue Heeler mix) is outside during the day and inside at night. I've only had her for 6 months- I got her from a friend. During the past month, she started scratching at our carpets ruining them. She only scratches them around the walls never in middle of the floor. Why is she doing this and what can I do to get her to stop?
