Dog with lumps behind the jaw
I recently noticed some swelling directly behind the jaw on my 10 yr old female neutered boxer. There are 4 distinct lumps that move freely (2 on either side) and do not cause her any pain or discomfort. She is eating and drinking well and her energy level is fine. She is a very active dog - most people think she is still a puppy. She has had reactions to insect bites in the past - usually resulting in lumps over her entire body, with a large number on her head and face so that was what I thought when I first noticed the lumps in her neck. When I checked her again this morning, the lumps have not spread from her neck. She is acting completely normal - should I be freaking out more that I already am?? |

Cat wheezing and coughing
We have been feeding a feral stray cat (probably over 10 years old, he's a Domestic Short Haired neutered male) for 6 years now. We trapped him early on and had him vacinated and neutered. For years now he's been coughing and wheezing. At times he gets worse and has nasal and eye discharge but that eventually clears up. We trapped him again and took him to the vet. Several of his teeth fell out while being examined and he has severe dental disease. The vet said his coughing and wheezing were probably due to his dental disease and his lungs "didn't sound that bad". Have you heard of dental disease causing respiratory problems or should we go for another opinion?
