Dog with worm in wound
I noticed my 3yo female neutered Yorkie was bleeding on her back leg.I cleaned off the blood and noticed that she had a puncture wound on her leg so I sprayed some bactine on it and shaved atound the wound to let it heal,I couple of days later I noticed that the wound was developing a large bump and wasn't healing so I squeezed around it to see if it was infected and to my horror a small wormlike insect come out of the wound.I can not fiqure out what this is or how it got inside this wound. Its about 1/4 inch long and white and looks like some type of larvae,Can you tell me what this is and what should I do about this,I have this rhing in a plastic bag to take to my vet on Monday,my dog doesn't seem to show any ill effects from this shes eating and drinking and going doing her business as usual. |

Neutering male cat Vs using Feliway to stop urine spraying
Well, My Birman male kitty has "come of age" and started "spraying" (he's about ten months old now) ... He rarely goes outside, and never without supervision, so I really hoped I wouldn't need to neuter him. But he's wailing all the time and urinating on things, I know this is only natural. My question is, have you heard of this product called Feliway? It seems like something I might try out first before subjecting my beloved cat to neutering, but I am concerned about harmful fumes for my cat and myself. Is this product safe? Have you heard good things about it? Or do you think I should just bite the bullet and neuter him?
