Instructions for Online Dog Game

Latest Feature :

To make it more interesting, I've decided to add some prize money to be won for the person who makes it to the top of the hall of fame for the distance throwing event.  To be eligible to win the prize, you will need to pay $3.95 at the beginning of the game before you first sign up for a dog.  Payment is via Paypal.  $2 out of that $3.95 gets put aside for the prize.  So the more people play, the more money is added to the prize money.  At the end of the month, the person who is at the top of the hall of fame frisbee event for that month wins the prize money that's stockpiled for each event.  To make it fair for everybody, after every prize is given out, the hall of fame is reset to zero again and the game starts over on a new footing.  The game is still free to play for those who do not want to participate in the prize money - it just means that they aren't eligible to win the prize even if they end up on top of the hall of fame.  Next month the competition will move to the accuracy event and then it will alternate between the 2.

Currently the prize money for the distance event is $12

The basic aim of the game is to earn as much money as possible, win as many competitions as possible and still have a healthy, happy dog.  After you sign up and pick your dog, your dog will be assigned doggy stats which are graded from 1 up (1 being very poor).  If at any time your dog's health drops to 0, it's game over.  The ideal range for your doggy stats to be is at 10 but this could go over 10 if you are lucky and diligent.

Everyone starts off with a fixed sum of money $3000, with a 2 month old dog and 2 cans of generic dog food that the breeder gives you.  When you first enter the game, you need to get supplies - visit the vet (stock up on flea treatments and heartworm tablets) and the petstore (stock up on food, frisbees, toys, treats).  Each time you log in, you can pick 2 of 5 options to do : visit the vet ($70 front up for a visit unless your dog is sick in which case it will cost more), visit the petstore, go to work (earn $100 for your efforts), go to the park for exercise and training (you need at least one frisbee to go and work out with your dog to prepare for the competition) or enter the frisbee competition (if your dog wins, you get $200 in prize money and entry fees are $50).  There are 2 categories in the frisbee competition - the distance throwing and accuracy.  Winning a distance throwing competition is worth $200, if you try out for the accuracy competition as well, you will earn a bonus $50 if you win.  On top of this you need to complete your daily chores of feeding your dog, walking it and giving it its flea medication/heartworm tablets.

As it is a 'virtual dog game' your dog grows at the phenomenal rate of 2 months per 'day' ie after you've completed 2 options and your daily chores you can opt to keep playing or log out.  If you keep playing your dog automatically ages 2 months.  If you log out, the same thing happens and when you next log in again, your dog will have 'grown' by 2 months.

As a last IMPORTANT instruction - DO NOT even try to cheat - it will stuff your results up majorly (usually for the worse) so unless you are real keen to send doggy to rainbow bridge, don't do it!

Good luck.
