I came across this great idea of this virtual pet game and thought I’d share it with you. It’s
a novel concept based on having virtual pets online. Basically, it’s one of those sites which
allow you to adopt a virtual pet online – in this case a show dog and it takes you through all
the problems and decisions you would come up against as a real show dog owner eg
breeding, choosing to show the virtual dog yourself or through an experienced handler.
It is something which I thought was ideal for those who are thinking of starting a kennel or even for anyone in the general public wanting to learn more about dogs and the dog show world. You get to pick your own virtual pet, decide on the dog breed and watch them grow from puppyhood to champion dog. Opt to show the virtual dog in different categories – all breed or specialty shows – the judges each have their own standards and preferences. How well your kennel performs is up to you and the decisions you make. You are the breeder, owner, handler, trainer, and groomer of your online virtual pets. You get to manage and budget the rations of food your dogs receive, how you breed your dogs, which shows you enter, and much, much more.
