Dog losing control of bladder

My pet dog is 15 yrs old (female neutered Spitz cross) and just had a geriatric blood work profile done.(for dental). Just about a week or so ago she started to urinate in her kennel while I was at work (never before). She also cannot hold it in the house at night time. She leaks a little when asleep, but also wake up to go outside. She has been taking medicine for a possible urinary tract infection, but it is not helping. The results on the urine sample showed a little blood, but not much infection. What can be the problem?

Cats and moving house

I am moving soon, and I’m moving off my island into the city. I have multiple cats (5) and need to find a way to get them transferred from my house to the new house. Unfortunately, there is a ferry ride on the way and i dont have enough carriers to have them all locked up. Is there anything I can buy to calm them down long enough (3-4 hours) to get them over there? and would it be safe to have them in the back of the moving van or should they be in the car with us?

Beta fish with lump near tail

my beta fish has been not right for a couple of weeks now. First he propped himself up between the filter and the tank then he got pop eye which has been treated. Now he seems to be stuck on his side and I noticed that there is a bulge at the back of his body right before the tail starts. This seems to be what is keeping him from swimming upright. Any ideas of what I’m dealing with and what I can do for this fish?

Frontline plus for cats

Previous cat health question on Ask A Vet
Do I need to use frontline plus on all my cats? I have 4 in the household and there’s really only 1 that seems to be affected by the fleas - I don’t see any fleas on any of the other cats. It’s just Cassandra (a 4yo neutered female tabby) that seems to go beserk when there’s even one flea on her. Is there anything else that I have to do to keep the fleas under control?

Answer : Yes ideally you should use Frontline plus for ALL your cats. Cats are very good at picking out fleas whilst grooming so whilst you may not see fleas on yor cats, they could still have them. Fleas also live off the cats ie they live on their bedding, carpets, cushions etc to lay eggs so frequent vacuuming of your house, washing their bedding, vacuuming the lounges etc will decrease the flea population as well. Frontline plus will knock out adult fleas and stop the ones already on your cats from multiplying but the ones currently in the environment who haven’t been subject to the Frontline will still be around so you may just have to be more patient and wait a bit longer persevering with the vacuuming and Frontline Plus treatment. Eventually you will get it under control.

Beta fish lethargic and eating less

Beta fish care question from Ask The Vet
My beta fish has been hanging out at the bottom of its home for about 3 weeks. It comes up for food once a day and is eating less and it has been spending much of it time resting on the marbles on the bottom. It is becoming grey around its face and upper portion of its body. It often looks dead because it does not move. I feed it TetraMin Tropical Granules The Rich Mix and I change its water once a week with tap water and Tetra Aqua Aqua Safe. He looks like he is dying and I hope I can do something to help him. (I do not know if it is a male or female).
