Cat with urinary problems
I have a cat that is just over a year old. She was supposed to be spayed by a RVT where I work. For about 2 months now, she’s been howling and screeching at all hours of the day and night. I took her to the vet, and they did a urinalysis, they said they couldn’t see anything. I don’t have the money to pay for a lab test, so I put her on Clavamox for a full cycle, and baby aspirin. After the cycle she quieted down for a little while. Then about a week later it started again. So I tried the Clavamox and baby aspirin again. Same thing, she quieted down for a few days. And, once again, it came back. She urinates in a few, specific places around the house, outside the litter box. She yowls and howls, and rubs up against everything and one. She sits with her bottom in the air with her tail raised. She constantly is licking her tail area. I feed her Iams adult food, and use Arm and Hammer scoopable litter. So, I’m confused as to whether she has a repeat UTI or if the spaying was botched. What should I do? I don’t have a bunch of money for a bunch of tests if she just needs a re-spaying. I know it’s hard to know without examining her, but I would appreciate your best guess as to the problem. Thanks!
