Pregnancy in dogs
our dog (3yo female Chocolate Labrador) was with a breader for 5 days she was 9 to 10 days into heat when she arrived she stayed for 5 days she has been home for 7 days she is spotting slightly still just dripping around the house it is not real bright red kinda pink sometimes brownish. this is her first time with a breader and i did take her to the vet before i took her to the breeder he said she would brobably be ready in 2 to three days, but being that she was a virgin would she still bleed some even if she is pregnant? Is their a pregnancy test for dogs? and can you use the same kind that humans do and hold the stick under her whan she pees?

Dog self mutilating
4 weeks ago our dog (2yo male neutered Jack Russell Terrier) had surgery to repair a luxated patella. The surgery went well but 2 days after surgery he chewed up his tail so badly that it had to be amputated. Following that he was placed on chlomipramine and fitted with a cone collar. He was doing really well for about a week so we removed the collar and about 2 days after that he chewed up his penis. His vet up the dosage of the chlomipramine and took an x-ray of his knee which showed that the pin used in surgery has migrated. They think that may be the cause of his self-mutilation if it’s causing him discomfort and have advised us to have the pin removed 9 weeks following surgery. We have also taken him to a family member’s house for 2 weeks of intensive training as our relative is a dog trainer. My concern is that none of the vets we’ve seen have heard of this kind of behaviour and therefore can’t really help us with any advice. Is there anything we can do to make sure he won’t continue to self-mutilate? We love having our Jack Russell and would hate to have to put him down if the self-mutilation doesn’t stop.

Cat refusing to eat
We bought a cat (3yo female neutered Maine Coon) one week ago and seems to be in excellent health. She is very active and craves attention but we are unable to entice her to eat. We have tried the same food the breeder gave her as well as the formula that she ate while weening her one and only litter and also the food our other two Maine Coon’s eat. Nothing has worked; not even fancy albacore tuna. She is quite shy by nature so we have tried to isolate her from any distractions but nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

Dog with muscle spasms on leg
My dog’s (2yo male Italian Greyhound) rear right leg has muscle spasms. The first time was when he was on a walk. He has had them while in bed sleeping also. When he goes downstairs in the morning he usually lifts his back right leg up, I originally thought this was because it is a rounded staircase. At first he cried while having a spasm, now he doesn’t seem to care. At first he had the spasm every once in a while, now it is happening everyday and sometimes on multiple occasions during one walk. When he has them now he just continues on his walk, just on three legs. Most of the time he seems to be just fine. He can run a high speeds and doesn’t seem to be in any pain. What does this sound like?

Puppy with turned eye
I have purchased a puppy (female English bulldog) from a breeder I found online that lives about 5 hours from me. I haven’t received the puppy yet because she is only 5.5 weeks old - I will be getting her at 8 weeks. I have been receiving pictures of the puppy from the breeders and every picture I’ve received the puppy’s left eye is looking towards the far left. Even when it appears as if she is looking straight ahead her left eye is to the far left. It seems to me that she may have a lazy left eye. I have asked the breeder about this but haven’t heard back yet. If it’s true that she has a lazy eye would you recommend that we still purchase her? What can you tell me about pets having lazy eyes? How will this effect her health & personality? We visited her several weeks ago and didn’t notice her eye because she was sleeping about 95% of the time. Her brothers and sisters were more active and in pictures I’ve seen of the other pups they always seem more active and lively. The dog we are getting always looks sad in her pictures. Is this a sign that something is wrong? PLease advise. I really appreciate your time and help. Thank you so much.
