dog with tremors at rest
our dog (4yo female neutered Mini Schnauzer) has started having tremors or spasms that only seem to happen when she is resting. they can go on itermittantly for 10-15mins. her regular vet examined her but did not do blood work. he said that some dogs just have tremors and the testing would be painful and invasive to really determine the cause. otherwise she is perfectly healthy and gets a fair amount of exercise. what are your feelings on this and do you have any idea what might cause these tremors?

cat with fluid in lungs
This kitten (6mo domestic short hair female) has ever since her accident and as long as we’ve had her, had fluid on her lungs. She breaths struggled (too fast) and has cough attacks, both presumably from the fluid. The vet has taken x-rays and given her anti-biotics for a couple of weeks and a fluid we have given her through the mouth to drain the fluid away. She has been in and out of the vets, with prognosis differing every time. Last week they seemed optimistic and said to stop anti-b. and half dosage on the fluid thing. I thought she seemed worse a couple of days after this, and now at the check up the vet thinks so too. The vet has given up now, and thinks there is nothing to do, even though they don’t know what is wrong with her yet. Other than this problem the kitten seems fine. She is happy and awake, she eats, drinks, goes toilet, plays and so on. Her gums are nice and pink. I would like to know if you have any suggestions to what they problem might be or if you think it can be fixed, and if we should take the kitten to a different vet. I am worried this vet is not doing enough, or at least not the right things. I don’t want to have to put the kitten down, I love her allready. I can´t give up on her on the basis of fluid in her lungs, surely there must be something causing this, and if we knew what we could maybe fix it..Is this a common injury for cats, and do some of them make it through?
The x-ray apparantly is milky or cloudy, the vet says she can’t see much in them.

cat fibrosarcoma treatment
Barney (male neutered American shorthair 14years old), our male cat had a quarter size mass on right flank which was diagnosed as vaccine associated fibrosarcoma. Surgery was done in December 2004 to remove the tumor. Pathology for determination of clear margins was done after surgery and a few neoplastic strands were still present.
He’s done very well since and is alert and active. He’s developed several small nodules in the same area and a new mass up on his back spine area. We just took Barney back to the vet suregeon who did the original surgery and he is recommending a second surgery to remove the new nodules and mass. He did blood work and urinealysis but di not do a needle biopsy.
Our question is at age 14 and with a tumor that is almost sure to reform following surgery – does it make sense at his age and with this type of tumor to put him through the surgery again.
If we don’t elect the surgery – can you give some guidnae on how the cancer would progress and the quality of life Barney would then be subject to. My understanding is that this type of tumor does not normally metastisize and would simply continue to grow and invade his connective tissue.
