Dog with pale gums

My two-year old dog’s (Jack Russell cross, male neutered) gums are white or pale most of the time. They have been so for several weeks. Over the course of one day they can be pink (normal) and white. He has no other symptoms. He eats and drinks normally. Stool is normal. He is active (quite active!!!). I’m just a little concerned and wondered if this warranted a visit to my vet.

Benadryl and acepromazine in combination on itching dog

My scottie (3yo female neutered) seems to be suffering from flea allergies. I have treated her with Frontline but she continues to dig & scratch at herself. I would like to give her some benadryl. I have read online the dose is 0.5-2 mg/Lb two times per day. Is this correct? I am getting ready to go on vacation and my brother will be keeping her. She has suffered from separtion anxiety before so I got a prescription of Acepromazine 25 mg refilled for my brother to give her if she needs it. Can the benadryl and the acepromazine be given at the same time?

Dog with collapsed trachea

My dog (5yo female neutered Pekingnese) has been diagnosed at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, to have a collapsed trachea. I understand this is common with the brachycephalic breeds. Her trachea collapse is on the end of the trachea closest to her heart and lungs, and exhibits on her exhale. She is otherwise extremely healthy and active and only rarely does this condition seem to slow her down. I have seen other Pekes, Pugs, French bulldogs that are affected much more than she is, who also appear to be active and not too affected by the condition. My question is this: Will her collapsed trachea degenerate further as she gets older, or does the area of the trachea affected by collapse generally remain the same throughout the lifetime of the dog. What signs should I look for to know if her condition is changing? Is there any help for her?

Puppy hair loss

Our dear puppy (14weeks old, Beagle/Bassett male) started about 2 weeks ago with slow hair loss on his belly. He is now loosing hair slowing along his sides, his chest and under his chin. He was diagnosed by a vet with Mange. We treated it once with Metiban dip and now are treating it with Neem oil shampoo and a supplement on his food for skin. I have been doing a lot of research online about mange, if he has it, it looks like it would be the Demodex kind. I’m not totally sold yet that it’s mange because he has no lesions, or sores. It’s just hair loss and itchyness… not other signs. Other than loosing his hair , he looks like a healthy pup. My questions is, could this be something else or did we catch the mange early and he may not get the sores and stuff? Thank you so much.
